Within these results, River Science flagged sensitive areas (i.e. utilities, structures), areas of interrupted transportation routes (i.e. overtopped roads and railroads), and areas where floodplain opportunities exist. Floodplain opportunities were identified where the terrain promotes flood storage (i.e. areas of existing or possible detention basins) as well as areas where slight construction could encourage greater floodplain inundation and thus slow the flow and reduce sediment load (i.e. lower bulking factors).

NOTE 1: The identified areas/concerns are not meant to be a complete list, but one used for discussion and further exploration.

NOTE 2: Areas of extreme hydraulic conditions are not flagged, as the shear stress results best depict the likely locations of significant channel and floodplain mobility.
